| Summary | 0001261: Import raw sketch from webcam | ||||
| Description | Sometimes it is more convenient and fast to draw sketch by hand on paper. It is common step before engineer's brain is ready to think about dimensions and constraints. It would be fantastic if I could put paper under webcam and click some button to launch the next chain of actions: 1. Take photo image 2. Process it from raster to vector 3. Find contours, arcs, circles, lines and create corresponding geometry in sketch with some accuracy Thus I will only have to adjust ready geometry. | ||||

I'm afraid this is way out of FreeCAD's scope... You would e much better with vector-processing apps such as inkscape, which by the way can do that kind of job pretty well. You can then easily import the result in FreeCAD after cleaning. |

Yes, of course. I'm talking about calling external vector-processing application from FreeCAD without need to open, control and close it manually. |

I suppose we can close this... |
