This seems to be the same as bug 1423. That bug appeared to of been fixed yesterday with everything working normally, but turning on the computer today, it is back. Strange. Here, this crash happens when the new sketch is invoked from the Combo View > Tasks tab. Creating a new sketch from the tool bar works and there is no crash.
