| Description | I have a complex solid and a simple cube. In some positions, the two can be combined with a fusion operation. In some positions, an exception is thrown. In my private, not-shared, non-simplified project file, I'm hitting 2GB of RAM before the exception is thrown. In the included file, the exception seems to be thrown quickly. I have modelled a very similar part like this previously and did not have a problem before. I believe I'm using 0.15.4671 32b compile for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. While "minor" in the face of the rest of the world, this is a deal-breaker for my project. I have spent all night trying work-arounds to no avail. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | In the enclosed file, the fusion between the complex solid and the cube throws an exception for me. If the cube is returned to default position, the fusion works correctly. | ||||

You have an invalid solid. Use check geometry from the part workbench. With invalid solids, modeling operations will be unpredictable. This is especially true for boolean operations. Incorrect usage of loft. Depending on your freecad and solid modeling experience, it is best to start your problem solving on the forums and let the advanced users help determine if you have a bug. This eases the burden on the developers managing the bug tracker. Thanks. |
