Summary0002378: Hangs on opening files created with previous version
Description0.15 is not available on ubuntu 15.10, so I'm running 0.16 from daily. This version is unable to open most of my projects. Even if I create a simple test project (attached below) with a single 'simple copy' it will hang on opening forever. There is no error in the debug log, nor is there any output on the console indicating what is going wrong.
The part-> check geometry in version 0.15 reports no errors.
Steps To ReproduceUse 0.16 from daily to open the attached file. It opens perfectly in 0.14 and 0.15.

So it seems the issue is not related to opening files. It was just the first thing I tried. I can make the 0.16 install hang by just creating a new project, adding a part->cylinder and copy&paste that cylinder in the same project.

It will not hang when dealing with non-round objects like cubes.

Also please note that this does not happen on ubuntu 15.04, only on 15.10 (Wily Werewolf)

Hi,
Thank you for your time in creating this ticket. Have you still got this problem?

Have you discussed this on the Help forum anywhere yet? If not please do so, and please discuss matters in the forums first before creating a bug ticket.

Have you tried renaming your FreeCAD config file?

I would have thought that we would have had a lot of posts on the forum about this matter if it was always seen in Ubuntu 15.10 as we have a few others using it, but I don't know how many and being a non LTS distro version 15.10 is likely not very widely used, but it still seems unlikely that no one else has complained about this. I wonder if it is GPU/driver OpenGL related? Do other openGL applications work correctly on your system?

I will close this ticket now, please feel free to discuss this on the Help forum....and if needed I can re-open this ticket.
