| Summary | 0002667: New icon | ||||
| Description | This might seem very trivial, but in my opinion the application's icon seem outdated, resembling the old MSDOS icons on Windows 95. I believe this may disencourage new users from trying FreeCAD, which is sad as it is a feature-packed nice piece of free open-source software up to the competition. It may seem unimportant, but icons are one of the software's first contacts with the users and it may define whether it will use the software or not. So put on your nicest suit and make a good introduction :) | ||||

This has been discussed a thousand times on the forum, have a search there for "new logo". Many have proposed other logos. If you still want to try to make a new one, I propose you have a try there, these things are best discussed with the whole community. I will close this report as we have no plan to do something new in that regard, if you are interested in discussing this further, I suggest you post on one of the old logo threads on the forum... |
