| Description | Starting from the enclosed file, select a face of the PolarPattern in the x-y plane. 2) File->Export -> Autodesk DXF 3) In FEMM (a third party application) create a new magnetics problem, and import the saved DXF geometry. The geometry shows that all of the curved lines (ARCs) have been turned into straight lines instead. The example DXF file is also attached. | ||||

I don't see any problem in the dxf file (see attached screenshot)... Maybe the problem lies in your FEMM application? |

From the FEMM manual: FEMM does not understand all the possible tags that can be included in a dxf file; instead, it simply strips out the commands involved with drawing lines, circles, and arcs. All other information is simply ignored. Yes, I see that some other CAD programs will show that the DXF file lines up as intended. |
