| Summary | 0002409: 0.15 and 0.16 from ubuntu ppa - crash,when using Part module | ||||
| Description | I want to use Part module,e.x to cut a hole with cylinder on sphere. When firstly click Sphere,then Cylinder and click to cut - In Xterm shows "SIGSEGV Raise". When I want to do again - crash. When want to do cut sphere in Cylinder = rapid crash. It's hardware-independed - PC with GTX760 and Notebook with Quadro NVS 160M crash the same. It's not driver-related,because on PC I have Nouveau,and on Notebook - blob. Additional info(from GDB,notebook): http://wklej.org/id/1907976/ http://wklej.org/id/1907979/ It's 0.16 version. 0.15 do the same,on PC the same too. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. Launch FreeCAD 2. New file 3. Take Part workbench 4. Make Cylinder 5. Make Sphere 6. Select Cylinder and Sphere 7. Click to cut/fuse(do the same effect - crash) | ||||

This is a known bug... You need to install OCE 0.17 from the same PPA. |
I have installed OCE from the same PPA and It's still crashing. |
What's more - after try to reinstall FreeCAD I cannot install it,because It want libcoin80,libshiboken1.2 and libzipbios++0c2a,which my Debian unstable-based Siduction distro don't have it. |
Are you sure it's OCE from the PPA? It should be 0.17, not 0.15. This bug is caused by OCE 0.15. If you try to use a PPA with a debian-based system, it is very likely to give problems, this is not FreeCAD's fault :) |

Thank you for spending the time to create this ticket but this would have been better to have discussed on the Help forum, its not a FreeCAD bug, its user error. The PPA is for Ubuntu and its derivatives, not Debian or others. Its almost always best to discuss a potential bug in the forums before you create a bug ticket where more eyes can see it, so that we keep bug tickets quality high and reduce unneeded tickets. |
