I'm pretty sure, I should add, that I think these are "out of memory" issues of some sort. But why that model should run FreeCAD out of memory is beyond me. It was suggested earlier on the forum that the problem might be because the above model has errors. Well, this one doesn't, according to FreeCAD: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6KWLyPRYMb0RUdqbGpoUllCWjg And it crashes just the same. |

Made a test with the actual version. OS: Debian GNU/Linux 8.7 (jessie) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.10424 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: Rueck6 Hash: 5c5537da737d55e77ecde65fda7d1ea6512ffe76 Python version: 2.7.9 Qt version: 4.8.6 Coin version: 4.0.0a OCC version: 7.1.0 The actual version of FreeCAD does not crash at my machine. The crash happend with the depreceated GMSH module. I remember the topic. The model had tons of errors. Never ever possible to make a valid FEM mesh from this data. No mesher all over the world could fix all the errors. But I must admit FreeCAD should not crash if GMHS crashes. Since there where so many errors I did not made a report at GMSH people at that time. Just tried again with FreeCADs included GMSH mesh object and it does not crash (same as last post of ulrich1a). I even tried with the old macro but it did not crash either. But may be it's not the same macro and I have not the same GMSH binary and FreeCAD has changed too. From my point of view it can be closed. bernd |
