Summary0004597: Gui fails to display if the file ~/.mozilla/plugins/mozplugger0.so is present.
DescriptionI'm the leader of the qa team for Mageia linux. I've checked the freecad forum and tracker for any references to mozplugger with none found.
While testing an update for freecad for Mageia, I encountered a problem with the gui failing to display. This is documented in
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27340#c18 and the following comments where I tracked it down to failing to display if the file
~/.mozilla/plugins/mozplugger0.so is present. It works by simply remving that file.

The file is left over after an upgrade to Mageia 8 from Mageia 7 where I had used the mozplugger program.

Steps To ReproduceI'll attach a copy of the file to this bug report. To reproduce the issue save it as
~/.mozilla/plugins/mozplugger0.so and then run FreeCAD.

Just fyi, I tested the same update on Mageia 7 and it is not affected by the presence of mozplugger0.so.
So it's something unique to Mageia 8 where the firefox profile was carried over from a Mageia 7 installation.

can you reproduce this on v0.19 stable?

Tried installing https://download-ib01.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/33/Everything/x86_64/Packages/f/freecad-0.19-0.3.20201125gita50ae33557.fc33.2.x86_64.rpm
as Fedora is very similar to Mageia, however there are dependency version mismatches. Mageia has a newer version of libboost_regex, an older version of libpython,
and probably other differences. I could force rpm to install the package, with --nodeps, but that would hide any other mismatches that are not showing up yet as rpm
stops at the first unmet dependency, so wouldn't really be suitable for testing purposes.

Looks like there were good reasons for our packager to choose to stay with 0.18.

I've added an errata entry for Mageia 8, in https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_8_Errata#Various_software as a simple work around. I'll go ahead and close this bug report.
At least the issue and workaround are documented, if it does affect other distributions too.

I don't see a option in this bug tracker for me to mark the bug as closed, won't fix. I'm fine with the bug being closed since Mageia 8 is not using Freecad 0.19

Thanks for the heads up. I'll Close the ticket but keep an eye open. Thank you.
